Gentle, exploratory counselling — your pace, your lead
There is no agenda, no pressure to arrive at answers quickly, and no expectation that you'll have everything figured out before we begin. Many people come not quite knowing where to start — and that's absolutely fine. We start wherever you are.
As an integrative counsellor I draw on a range of approaches, weaving together what is most useful for each person. At the heart of my work is a deep respect for the connection between mind, body and soul — appreciating the interconnectedness of all three.
Somatic and trauma-informed
Healing isn't only a thinking process. I work with what the body holds as well as what the mind carries. A trauma-informed approach means your responses are not problems to be fixed but messages to be listened to, understood and honoured.
Attachment science
Many of our struggles have roots in early relationships and experiences. Understanding those patterns — with compassion and curiosity, not blame — can be profoundly freeing.
Person-centred
You are the expert on your own life. My role is to offer "good soil" — a genuine, warm, open and non-judgemental relationship where you feel safe enough to trust your own inner wisdom and grow. It is this deep connection, not expert advice, that unlocks your natural capacity for healing.
Polyvagal theory and relational neuroscience
I start with the premise that the brain is capable of incredible change and growth with the right conditions — safe and attuned relationships. I understand how the nervous system responds to stress and safety, and how to work gently with those responses — helping you move from survival into genuine rest.
Mindfulness & compassion
Developing a kinder, more curious relationship with yourself is often at the centre of our work — especially for those who give out so much to others.
Parts work
Sometimes different parts of us want different things, or carry different wounds. This approach helps you understand and integrate those parts with compassion rather than conflict.
Faith-sensitive counselling
I work with the whole person — mind, body and spirit. For those for whom spirituality is meaningful, I can weave this gently into our work, drawing on Christian contemplative traditions. This is always offered, never assumed.
Healing doesn't always happen sitting still in a room
I like to incorporate nature and creativity into our work — whether that's through natural crafts, creative exploration, or walk-and-talk sessions outdoors. Moving the body, working with our hands, and being in nature can unlock things that words alone sometimes can't reach.
This is always led by you and what feels right — it's an invitation, never an expectation.
