When everything feels heavy, you deserve someone in your corner
If you've found your way here, you've already done something brave. Depression makes even small things cost more than you have — so I'll keep this simple, and the next step easy.
Whenever you're ready — no rush.
You don't have to force positivity here
Depression isn't sadness alone. It can feel like heaviness, numbness, exhaustion, or a flatness where feelings used to be. It can make you withdraw from people you love, and then feel guilty for withdrawing.
You won't be told to "think positive" in my room. Instead, you'll find someone who sits with you in how things actually are — and helps you find your way through, one step at a time.
How counselling can help
Together, gently and at your pace, we make room for what you're carrying. We listen to what the low mood might be telling you — because in my experience, our responses are messages, not malfunctions.
I draw on person-centred, body-aware and nervous-system-informed approaches, and we can bring in nature and creativity if that feels right. Some people find that walking and talking outdoors makes it easier to begin than sitting face to face.
"I don't have the energy for therapy"
That's one of the most common worries I hear — and it makes sense. So the process is deliberately light: a short message, a free 20-minute call, and sessions at a regular time so there's nothing new to organise each week. You don't need to prepare anything, ever.
Where and how we'd work
Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £55, with concessions sometimes available. We can meet in person in a peaceful farm setting near Ash in East Kent (between Canterbury and Sandwich, easy to reach from Deal, Dover and Thanet), at Lighthouse43 in Folkestone, or online, wherever you are. It always starts with a free, no-pressure 20-minute call.
